Luke Frye Luke Frye

CPA & Consultant for Accounting Firms

I shared 11 job posts from my network this week. Here's what I'm seeing.

Happy Frye-Day.

There's a lot of noise right now about AI replacing accountants. Some of it's worth paying attention to. A lot of it isn't.

But here's what I also did this week: I reposted 11 times on LinkedIn from people in my network who are actively hiring accounting talent. A lot of those posts had multiple openings listed.

That's not a prediction about the future. That's the job board in real time.

The AI reality check

AI reality check

AI is changing things. I've seen it firsthand at Canopy, and in every firm owner conversation I've had this year.

The question has shifted from "should we use AI?"
to "how do we use it without breaking what's already working?"

That's a real shift. But here's what hasn't changed: firms still need people who can think, communicate, and close the loop with clients.

The software gets faster. The human judgment part gets more valuable.

Times are uncertain. I get why accountants are anxious. But I'd rather show you what's actually in the market than make predictions about what's coming.

So here's what's actually in the market.

From the feed — accounting is hiring

A sample of what I shared this week. Real, active openings from people in my network:

• Bookkeeper

Edikted — via Danit Nir, Talent Acquisition Manager

• Fully Remote Accounting Opportunity — AI space

Green Key Resources — 12 weeks, $75/hr — via Robin Plass

• Senior Tax Associate

Current (neobank) · Arlington, VA — via Tippana Krishna Kumari

• Experienced Tax Associate

REA.co (Real Estate Accounting & Tax) — via Evan Schroedel, CPA

• Deal Desk Manager

Canopy — yes, we're hiring too

• Senior Accountant — Remote

Rythm (AI-native ERP) — via Rich Cotter, CPA, Head of Finance

• US Tax Analyst

Harris Computer (Constellation Software) · Ontario — via Tanya Chadha, CPA

• Outsourced Bookkeeper

Crystal Accountants — via Kelsey McGuirk ACCA FMAAT

This isn't one sector hiring.
It's accounting, broadly, still building.

That's the range: bookkeepers, tax associates, senior accountants, a deal desk role, a remote AI-adjacent gig at $75/hr. Small firms, neobanks, SaaS companies, real estate practices. Domestic and international.

I've probably shared a few more since this issue went out.
